This is a short post to show that, in addition to recommending books, I also write books!
Over the last three years, I have worked as an associate editor with a team of 7 other pediatric dermatology experts across the nation to create the first textbook on the use of lasers and skin surgeries in infants and children. I am pleased to say, we are finally done!
As any pediatric specialist will tell you, children are not simply small versions of adults. In fact, pediatric patients often present with unique diagnoses, and performing procedures in infants and children frequently require specialized tools. In addition, working with infants, children, teens, and families require unique considerations, skill sets, and knowledge. So, it is about time that we have a textbook dedicated to teaching residents, fellows, and early career providers on lasers, surgeries, and other skin related procedures in young people.
I believe this is a landmark textbook that shows how far we have come in pediatric procedural dermatology. From complex birthmarks and hemangiomas to warts and moles, we have it covered in this textbook. Being recognized by my peers as one of 8 national leaders in pediatric lasers and dermatologic surgeries, and given the opportunity to edit the first textbook of its kind, is a huge honor!

For our younger writers, “Imagine Forest” is a wonderful website for inspiring children to create their own literature just like Dr. B!: https://www.imagineforest.com
